Privacy policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
This page explains, in plain language, what Evenhold collects today, why, how long we keep it, and how you can get it back or delete it. It covers this website and the small invite-only pilot of the Evenhold app at app.evenhold.app.
Who runs Evenhold
Operator: Evenhold is a product of House Strategic Investments LLC, an Ohio company. Questions about your information go to hello@evenhold.app.
On this website
The only personal information this website collects is the email address you type into the "Join early access" form. We use it to send Evenhold updates, such as when early access opens. Your address is saved with our web host, Cloudflare, and added to our list at MailerLite, the email service that sends those updates. MailerLite's own privacy policy also applies.
Every update email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and ask us to delete your address, and we will.
In the Evenhold app (pilot)
Right now the app is open only to a small group of families whose caregivers' emails are on our list. Here's what it keeps:
- Caregiver accounts. Each caregiver's name and email address. There are no passwords. You sign in with a 6-digit code we email you.
- Sign-in codes. We store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of each code. Codes stop working after 10 minutes or 5 wrong tries.
- Your loved one. Their name as you enter it, which phone is connected, and when they agreed to join.
- Phone numbers. Only if you add them: your loved one's and each caregiver's. They're stored with your family's data and visible only to that family's caregivers (and to your loved one, for Call my family). They're used for the Call buttons, which open your phone's own dialer. Evenhold doesn't place calls or text these numbers, doesn't log them, and doesn't send them anywhere else.
- Your family's setup. The answers you give in setup, like who to tell and check-in times, plus the emergency card if you choose to fill it in. This also includes the check-ins, alerts, and notes shown on the caregiver screens.
- Your loved one's photo. Only if you add one in setup. The app shrinks it to a small square picture and saves it with your family's data on our servers, so every caregiver in the family sees it. Removing the photo in setup deletes it from your family's data.
- Invites. A scrambled copy of each invite link or code. Invites last 7 days and work once.
- Help alerts. When your loved one sends a help alert from their phone, we store it on our servers with the time, and who answered it, so every caregiver in the family sees the same alert.
- Location points. Only if your loved one turns location on. See "Location" below.
- Phone notification addresses. If you use the Evenhold phone app, we store an address Apple or Google gives each phone (a push token), so we can send that phone alerts.
- Basic security records. A scrambled copy of the network (IP) address that asks for a code, so we can limit how many codes go out and stop the system being used to spam people.
What we never ask for
- No passwords. There's no password box anywhere in Evenhold.
- No bank, card or Social Security numbers, and no security question answers. No form in Evenhold asks for them. The pilot is free and takes no payments.
- No clinical health records from a hospital or doctor's office. The emergency card is optional. If you add medicines, allergies, conditions, or similar notes there, we store that information with your family's data so caregivers (and your loved one's phone) can show it in an emergency. You can clear or change it anytime in setup, or delete your family's data.
We can't promise one never reaches us, because a scam message can contain one. Here's what happens if it does.
Scam checks
When your loved one sends a message for a scam check, Evenhold shares exactly what they typed, pasted or read aloud with the caregivers in your family, along with a first read on common warning signs. To produce that first read, the phone app may send the message text to our servers (hosted by Cloudflare), where we run the same kind of keyword checks the phone can run on its own. If the server can't be reached, the phone runs those checks by itself. We do not currently use an AI model for this. We do not sell scam-check text or use it for ads. If the message includes an account number, code or password, the caregivers in your family can see it. We ask families not to send those, and to cover or cross them out first if they can.
- Pictures and screenshots. When a picture is added, the picture itself isn't uploaded or kept. The app keeps only its file name.
- Where the text is kept. Scam checks are saved in the app on the phone where they were sent. A scam check entered from a caregiver's signed-in device is saved with your family's data on our servers, where only your family's caregivers can see it.
- Deleting it. Deleting your family's data removes saved scam checks with everything else. You can't delete a single scam check on its own yet. If you need one removed, email us and we'll do it.
Location
Location stays off unless your loved one turns it on, on their own phone, and they can pause it any time. When it's on, their phone sends its location to our servers, and the caregivers in your family can see it on a map. We keep each location point for 7 days, then delete it. The live map is part of the Family plan. Location only works when the phone is with them, turned on, and has signal. It isn't fall or wandering detection.
Texts, calls, and alerts
When your loved one sends a help alert, it goes to the caregivers in your family. They see it in the app, and if they use the Evenhold phone app, as a notification on their phone. To send those notifications we pass the alert and the phone's notification address to Apple (for iPhone) or Google (for Android). Evenhold doesn't send texts or place calls yet. The call and text buttons open the phone's own dialer or messages app. Before we add texting or calls, we'll update this page.
Evenhold isn't a medical alert service and doesn't detect falls. An alert can be delayed or missed if a phone is off, silenced, or has no signal. In an emergency, call 911. The Call 911 button just opens the phone's own dialer.
Who can see it
Your family's alerts, location, and setup are visible only to the caregivers in your family on Evenhold, and to your loved one's own phone. Other families can't see them.
Cookies
The app uses one sign-in cookie on each device, so you stay signed in. A caregiver's sign-in lasts 30 days. A loved one's phone stays signed in for up to a year and resets each time it's used, and a caregiver can disconnect it any time. These cookies aren't used for tracking or ads. Neither this website nor the app uses advertising cookies or ad trackers.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare hosts this website and the app, stores the app's data, and sends our sign-in emails. Like any web host, it may process basic technical information, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the service.
- Apple and Google deliver notifications to phones that use the Evenhold phone app.
- MailerLite stores the early-access list and sends update emails.
We don't sell your information, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't use it for ads. Our sign-in emails have no tracking.
How long we keep it
Your account and your family's data stay until you delete them, except location points, which we delete after 7 days. Deleting your family removes its alerts, location points, and phone notification addresses along with everything else. Deleting your own account removes your phone's notification addresses. Sign-in codes, invites, and sign-ins expire on the schedule above. Evenhold doesn't make backups of its own. Our host, Cloudflare, automatically keeps restore points of the app's database for up to 30 days. So after you delete something, a copy may remain in those restore points for up to 30 days before it's gone for good.
Getting a copy or deleting it
- The primary contact can download everything we store for the family as a file, or delete the whole family's data, from Your account › Download or delete your data.
- Any caregiver can delete their own account from the same page.
- A loved one can tap Stop sharing in Settings, or ask their family to remove them.
- You can also email hello@evenhold.app and we'll do it for you.
The support page has the steps.
The public preview
The browser preview uses sample data. Anything you type into it stays in your own browser and isn't sent to us.
Children
Caregiver accounts and the early-access list are for adults 18 and over.
Changes
We'll update this page, and the date at the top, before we change what Evenhold collects or add new features that use your information.
